Get Out and About in May

wcnc uptown charlotteMay is a beautiful month in the Charlotte area.  And there’s a ton to do in the area!  Here are a few of my favorites…

Not Just Putting Around
The Wells Fargo Quail Hollow Championship is back in town.  The tournament will be at the Quail Hollow Club from April 29th to May 5th.  Check out their site for tickets and their schedule!

Cinco de Mayo Fun
There are plenty of places to celebrate Cinco de Mayo around Charlotte!  One such place is the Cinco de Mayo Festival at McAlpine Creek Park.  This family-friendly event will feature music acts, folkloric dancing, a marketplace, traditional foods and more!

Don’t Forget Your Mother
Mother’s Day is May 12th.  If you’re interested in taking Mom to lunch, brunch or dinner, check out my posts on dining out in Stonecrest, Blakeney and Ballantyne!

No Striking Out
The Charlotte Knights are in their final season at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, and May is a busy month for them there.  Check out their schedule to see when you can catch a game!

Are You Ready to Run?

Freedom Park will become a post-apocalyptic playground on May 19th for Charlotte’s Zombie Run.  Like the site says, if you’re old enough to run, you’re old enough to run from zombies, so all ages are welcome.  To register, visit TheZombieRun.com.

Speeding Through May
NASCAR comes back to the Queen City!  Races include the NC Education Lottery 200 on May 17th, the Sprint All-Star Race on the 18th and the Coca-Cola 600 on the 26th.  For a full race schedule or to purchase race tickets, visit CharlotteMotorSpeedway.com!

Memorial Day is Upon Us
When it comes to the long Memorial Day weekend, there is no shortage of things to do in Charlotte!  Our friends at WSOC TV have put together an awesome list of them.  If you’re in need of something to do, check it out!
